The Game Pays Tribute To Prince On “Rest In Purple”

With the unfortunate passing of Prince at the age of 57 striking the world yesterday, many artists have paid tribute to the late musical sensation, including The Game.

Prior to the release of the single, The Game posted a tribute to the late artist on Instagram. “@Prince was such a huge inspiration to my life from a child watching #PurpleRain til the time I met him at Universal Music in 2006,” he said. “I was a fan then & I am a fan now ! His death was untimely & tragic… I’m sure the world is saddened as I was when I woke up to the news today.”

The Game raps “Why everybody gotta die so damn soon?” over production by BONGO ByTheWay on the heartfelt track. “All these legends dying, God gotta be running out of room/How he die? Don’t nobody even know yet/All I know is I ain’t ready to go yet.”
