“Mamba Day” Set To Honor Kobe Bryant

As the final days of the Kobe Bryant farewell tour wind down, it seems as if Nike have one last trick up their sleeve for one of their most historic signature athletes.

First reported by ESPN’s Darren Rovell, 200 players across the National Basketball Association (NBA) will wear the signature Kobe Bryant black and gold color way sneakers during Bryant’s last home game on April 13 against the Utah Jazz.

Far from an ideal last season for Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers find themselves sitting at 16-62, good for last in the Western Conference, while Bryant leads the team in scoring with an average of 16.8 points per game.

The purpose of “Mamba Day” is to honor the accomplishments of undoubtedly one of the best players to ever grace the NBA, and should prove to be a fitting end to an illustrious career for Bryant.
