Skepta Named Uniqlo Worldwide Ambassador

Japanese casual wear retailer Uniqlo have just announced Grime artist Skepta as their newest worldwide ambassador.

The Tottenham born musician joins an array of British public figures involved in the culture such as fashion designer Hana Tajima, BBC Radio 1 DJ Benji B, photographer/creative Cate Underwood, transgender model and activist Munroe Bergdorf, as well as filmmaker Sean Frank.

Skepta, real name Joseph Junior Adenuga, is expected to release his own line of clothing with the Asian brand, and was pictured sporting a full grey tracksuit in the Instagram announcement of the collaboration, a look that is often featured in his music videos and seen at many of his live shows.

This will be Skepta’s first ever collaboration with a fashion icon, and he will look to reach the success levels that co-Boy Better Know member, Drake had with his Air Jordan line.

Their London flagship store is currently closed for refurbishment ahead of their new “This Way to Utopia” campaign, but is expected to reopen its doors to the public on March 18.
